Volker Hoven was running for mayor in the German town of Sprockhövel, located in the southern Ruhr district. His innovative campaign was the first of its kind in the small town. Accompanied by a professional communications agency – Michael Tobias Content Marketing (MTCM) – he created an element of surprise with his early nomination, supported by three political parties: SPD, FDP as well as WfS. His website and the links to social media channels such as facebook, YouTube and Instagram were important cornerstones of the campaign. His video portrait offered background information about the candidate and his values, seen through the eyes of his wife, close friends, supporters, partners and political cronies.
MTCM developed the idea and concept for the film and worked in close cooperation with Volker Hoven and his supporters to create this emotional portrait.
