Solingen-based photographer Michael Tobias continues to make noise on the international photography stage. Over the past months, Tobias has picked up a number of prestigious international awards in the world of photography.
4 of Tobias’ photos were awarded in the first competition of the year 2022 at the WPE International Photography Awards. WPE organizes 3 competitions annually. Established in 2014, the awards honour outstanding photographic work in 30 different categories. Nearly 10,000 professional photographers from all over the world take part in the competitions. A top-class jury consisting of 12 excellent, multi award-winning photographers select the best photos. This year’s jury members come from Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Indonesia, Japan, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine and the USA. According to the organizers, WPE’s main objective is to encourage, educate, and continuously motivate photographers so that they remain committed to their craft.
“At the end of 2021, I attended the WPE International Photography Awards for the first time. From a standing start, I succeeded in landing 24th place in WPE’s Germany Ranking. Two of my pictures were awarded and I was bitten by the bug,” says Michael Tobias. In 2022, he will take part in all WPE competitions. Following the first competition, he climbed to #13 in the national ranking.
Tobias: “I’m baffled about receiving this distinction in view of the high-quality photographic work shown on WPE’s homepage. And, at the same time, I’m also very proud to have been honoured in this renowned environment.” Professional photography has been part of MTCM’s portfolio since 2019. Since then, MTCM’s photographic work has been awarded in several international competitions.
